When Harriet “Harm-man” was elected as Deputy leader of the Labour Party it looked like trouble ahead, and so it has proved. One would assume that anyone in this position would take a fairly neutral stand on matters affecting men and women, but this particular leopardess has not changed her spots and still campaigns for women’s issues to the neglect of men.
Today it was announced that two members of Fathers for Justice has climbed on to the roof of her house to protest about the way fathers are being prevented from seeing their children and the disastrous idea that fathers names need not be put on a child’s birth certificate. Poor Harriet has had to move out of her own house to stay elsewhere. I’m sure we can find a small cottage on the Outer Hebrides for her!
The BBC news dealt with the matter in its usual misandric fashion by saying what a terrible thing it was to interrupt a government minister’s weekend by such action. They were unwise enough to ask Matt O’Connor to comment on the news and he practically wiped the floor with the newscaster who asked “Why can’t you go through the proper channels to deal with this matter?” Matt then told him that they had already tried this and had asked to speak with Harriet Harman and also with Peter Hain, but both had refused to speak to them.
Obviously then it was the government ministers who closed down the proper channels leaving F4J no alternative but to try other methods. So they did!
Gordon Brown said he is “listening” to the people. If he is, then that ALL he’s doing; he certainly is not acting on people’s concerns and neither are the members of his cabinet. Given the content of my previous two entries, you would think that anyone with the slightest vestige of commonsense would at least meet with a powerful organization – who have proved that they are capable of getting onto almost any roof in the country to stage a demonstration – and try to sort out their grievances. After all, is it too much to ask that a father who is paying a lot of money to support his ex-wife and children, should be allowed to see his children?
If Gordon Brown does not reign in the feminist antics of Harriet Harman, then he deserves to go. The Labour Party has just received a sound tanning in the local council elections, and there is a general election not too far away. You would think that the Labour Party would now be seeing the red light. But no! All they seem to be seeing is the red flag!
